Golf
The Algarve is renowned for its superb courses, which all benefit from the glorious weather the region enjoys. No course (apart from Benamar and Casto Marim) on the Algarve is more than a 45 minute drive from Vila Serena, but the closest one is the charming Boavista course, which is only a 3 minute drive away. This Championship course was opened in 2002, and regularly hosts the Sir Henry Cooper/Mike Reid Charity Golf Classic. Boavista
A10 minute drive down the N125 towards Sagres takes you to the absolutely top-notch course at Parque de Floresta, which is the flagship course on the Western Algarve. Set in a nature reserve, the views on this course are absolutely stunning. This course too holds celebrity tournaments, with David Seaman running an event in April 2006.
